Color block walls are trending in the design world these days. I have always wanted to incorporate it in a small way in my home. As we began to work from home I realized quickly that sharing a workspace with my husband was not going to be ideal or practical. It was been counterintuitive to my productivity and sometimes or most times having calls from work at the same time in the same space was pure chaos.

After searching high and low for a desk that can fit into a little corner of my bedroom. I ran across this beauty on Instagram and luckily for me I was able to snag the last one in stock. If you had kids going to school this fall you know how pain it was looking home office supplies. Most stores were sold out with no hopes to restock for months.

After Purchasing my desk I knew I wanted to add some personal touches to my workspace. So a simple and inexpensive project was the color block wall. So I went to my favorite search engine Pinterest for inspiration. Due to the dark color of the walls in my bedroom, I wanted to choose colors that will create an impact but not too loud of an impact.

STEPS IN ACHIEVING A COLOR BLOCK WALL

  • Choose your design. I want for the rectangle design, but there are numerous ways to personalize your design
  • Using a leveler as a ruler, draw the design you want on the wall
  • Choose your paint colors
  • Have fun and if you don’t like it on the first try, try again.

I chose this four fun colors by Sherwin Williams. Garden Spot, Melon Meloso, Yams, and Inky Blue

I added two floating shelves I purchased from target. Contemporary art from Etsy came in a set of three. I printed them in size 8×10 and framed them in 10×14 frames.
