Hope you all had a great weekend. I spent my weekend at home catching up on household chores and watching shows on Netflix. We got the boys an inflatable pool after what felt like years looking for a reasonably priced one. I was so happy to find this fruity themed one. It came with a floaty and beach ball. Now that you know how my weekend went, let get to the reason behind this post. My summer skincare routine. I have made some changes to my skincare routine from the last time I shared my routine here. One of my goals during this pandemic was to take care better care of myself. Which for me includes taking better care of my skin.
The products I will be sharing today are products I have been using for the past three months and I have gotten great results from. I will be sharing products in 7 different categories. Cleanser, exfoliator, toner, serum, acids, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Summer Skincare Routine
I have Four products I rotate based on my skins needs. On days when I have worn makeup, I double cleanse with first with oil, then a soap-based cleanser. Grapeseed oil is my oil of choice because it works well with my sensitive skin and it is also gentle. After cleansing with the oil, then I cleanse either with the Neutrogena hydro boost or the urban skin Rx even tone cleansing bar. On the days I exfoliate, I use the vivant MANDELIC ACID 3-IN-1 wash. It is a great product to prevent acne and hyperpigmentation.
I rotate between three different toners, pending how my skin is doing. the ole Henricksen glow2spot exfoliating toner, rose water, and the ordinary hyaluronic acid toner. The rose water I sprit on my face in between each step of my skincare routine.
My go-to serums are the cos RX snail mucin and the Image Vital c Hydrating anti-age serum. Both products help boost skin hydration and correct hyperpigmentation. Which are the two problems my skin has?
My two favorites at the moment are from the ordinary. The niamicide and hyaluronic acid are a staple in my daily skincare routine. They both help in hydrating the skin, unclogging pores and acne prevention.
My favorite mask is an overnight mask from the body shop. On days when I feel like my skin feels dull and needs a little ick me up. Applying this overnight helps instantly hydrate the skin leaving it feeling supple and glowing.
To moisturize I use the Elta MD AM, Elta MD PM, moisturizer. I use the am moisturizer in the day time and the PM moisturizer before bed. I love that it is lightweight, really moisturizing without feeling greasy. Most importantly I use the La Roche-Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV with SPF 30. I used both the la Roche and the Black girl sunscreen as barriers to prevent my skin from sun damage.
